Eminence natural skincare facial – a review

Day spa Singapore

Today I was treated to the 90 min Absolute facial at new urban day spa Chinois Spa. Chinois Spa (previously known as Essential Spa) is located in the luxurious Mandarin Gallery shopping centre on Orchard Road and has a luxury oriental interior.

The Absolute facial with Eminence natural skincare products

This facial uses the famous beauty line of Eminence Organics skincare products. Currently, Chinois Spa is only one of 2 Singapore spas to use these products. Winner of several organic skin care awards, Eminence Organics products are getting increasingly popular in Hollywood and around the world and are said to be used by stars like Megan Fox and Jon Cryer.

Eminence Organics skincare prides itself on choosing the most effective scientific combinations of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs that are safe for the skin. Products do not include any parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals. Ingredients can include: grapefruit, lime, tomato oil, mango, apricot, rosehip, aloe mint but also vitamins A, C and E and Alpha Lipoic Acids and many more.

What was the facial like?

Needless to say that I was very keen to give this special facial a try. After a warm welcome by the lovely Irene I was introduced to my beauty therapist Vidi. The treatment starts with a short foot massage and a warm foot bath. After that I lied down and my skin was cleaned. Soon after that the first of a total of 3 masks was applied. This mask was based on paprika and AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) which helps to exfoliate the skin. I was warned that my skin could get ‘hot’ and it sure did! You can feel the blood pumping through your skin after a while and the mask gives quite a strong skin sensation.

Vidi had a gentle touch and even though 3 masks were applied I was never just left lying there. There is always something else going on, be it an arm massage, neck massage or shoulder massage. The paprika mask wasn’t left on for very long after which the skin was cleaned further and some extraction took place.

The facial continues to include another 2 short masks and extensive facial massage. There is a strong smell sensation from the many fruity ingredients in the Eminence products and when it’s all over (much too soon) you are left with a very smooth, radiating skin with a wonderful fragrance.

Conclusion

This is a very pleasant facial in a comfortable environment by a skilled beautician. The facial left my skin skin clean and refreshed and myself in a very relaxed state. I also enjoyed the wonderful ginger green tea afterwards!

Just tried the Chinois Spa Absolute facial on 24th May. Only 25% was given, not the 50% first timer and it wasn’t the experience I was expecting. It was done by an indonesian beautician and the treatment was so-so, I wouldn’t pay $234 for this so it’s my first and last visit. They’re more into massage and spa for Mandarin hotel guests so thumbs down and money not well spend. This is to fore-warn those who is going to give it a try plus I came back with itching red spots on my face:( Not happy!

Hi Jace, Sorry to read that you were not happy with the facial there. I contacted Chinois and they confirmed that the promotion is still on. However, it is important that you mention this website and bring a printout of the promotion page. As you did not mention this website or bring a printout, that was the only reason why you were not given the full 50% discount.
