I went there for a facial session. I have a normal to dry skin, and as any teenager in the world, I have problems with blemishes. my pesky tiny blemishes on my apples of my cheek. And also pore problems on my nose and the skin area just below my lips (blackheads and whiteheads). I took the skinO2 facial treatment, and I have to say that it was very nice. The spa itself has moved to ION orchard and the ambience was classy and homey at the same time. During my session a soothing classical music was played and it really gave me a relaxed feeling.

This was my first facial! ;) So I don’t quite know how the ‘proper’ facial has to be done. But overall, in a newbie perspective, the session worth every cent I spent. From the service, the ambience, everything. The facial is of 3 regiments: exfoliate, extract, and mask (usual facial procedure, I heard?). It also consists massage. The therapist massaged not only my face, scalp, neck, and shoulders – she also massaged my back! The massage was heavenly. It wasn’t ‘light’ but not too hard either. and she did my eye brows too, now this was surely a pleasant surprise.

Although there was this ‘accident’ where my therapist put on a stingy after-extraction-lotion on my face and a ‘stingy’ anti-acne mask. I did tell the therapist that I have a sensitive skin, so my skin will not withstand any ‘anti-acne’ or ‘stingy’ ingredients. But she used those anyways (later, I found out the reason was because of my small blemishes) and it gave me this horrible burning feeling on my face! I literally asked her to take it off right away. She was panicking but was pretty good in taking off the mask and ‘calmed’ my burning face. She changed the mask after that. I don’t know what mask it was, I didn’t ask her. But surely it wasn’t of any anti-acne products.

But after that, it was a calm and relaxing session. After she put on my mask, she didn’t leave while waiting 15 minutes for the mask to work (I read some internet reviews stated that the therapists left them alone in the room after putting on the mask and returned 15-20 minutes later). Instead, she was giving me a heavenly scalp massage! I’d say it was the best part of the treatment.

After that, another neck and shoulders massage, a purifying lotion (felt like a collagen).. and the treatment’s done. She asked me to take my own time before leaving, she didn’t hurry me so that was nice. I don’t like to be hurried. So I got up, got dressed, and did some touch up to my hair and went out the room (forgot to mention that the spa has about 18 VIP rooms, I think. I didn’t count them all. But the premises were big and there’s a lot of rooms) to find my therapist waiting for me by the aisle. She asked me to sit on this lovely glass chair to drink a cup of green tea while the lady at the front desk approached me. At first I thought she was going to sell some products or packages, but she didn’t! She was just asking how the treatment went. Oh, but she did recommend me to take this C-Matrix treatment instead to clear my blemishes and pores. But I said, ‘I’ll think about it first’ and to my surprise, she just nodded and gave me a friendly smile. She was very understanding and nice. She then booked me another session in 3 weeks time.

The results? My skin feels so soft and smooth and elastic. The feeling still lasts even after 3 days (that would be now)! I’m considering the C-Matrix now. Anyone have tried it before? Care to share your experiences? ;)
