Weight loss through lowering fat intake is not enough

My personal theory has always been that it is important to limit the amount of fat consumed each day in order to avoid weight gain. But, according to a research by Dr. Nita Forouhi of the Institute of Metabolic Science, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK, just reducing the amount of fat will not necessarily lead to weight loss.

Instead it is important to limit the TOTAL calorie intake, including sugars, alcohol and other providers of calories.

Interesting, but I will not break my (perhaps bad) habit of eating too many carbohydrates any time soon. I feel that as long as I limit my fat intake, I think I’ll be fine.
